Storms have a way of changing the natural order of things. A storm can happen in multiple ways. A storm is generally a disruption that creates chaos. A storm distorts the normal flow and placement of things. A storm could come in the form of a weather event, or a thought.
A weather event that distorts the way things appear, could come as a windstorm, heavy rain or tornado that moves objects from the normal placement from where they were. The wind from a tornado generally blows hard and strong enough to move things from inches or to miles away. A heavy down pour of rain that lasts for an extended period is not good for the soil. The rain that lasts for a long time, can overly saturate the ground. If the soil becomes overly saturated from the water from the rain, the rainwater can wash away the soil and cause the ground to give away. When the ground gives away, any object that is on the ground, gets washed away and its original position is changed.
An individual can face storms in their mind. The Thoughts that are left unchecked can cause the mind to be distorted and filled with chaos. A storm in an individual’s mind, comes from the things that they think about. The mind of an individual acts like a bank, it stores and replays events that it has encountered. Some thoughts are pleasant, and others are not. The thoughts that are not pleasant are generally the thoughts that are the source of the storms that come. The thoughts create chaos and distorts the normal thought process. However, a mind focused on spiritual things can weather every storm. When the mind is stayed on the words of the Lord, that individual would be able to weather any chaos and distortions that come from a storm. When the storm comes, one should remember to never give up because the storm will pass, regardless of what form it comes in.
The bible teaches about storms and explains the power that the Lord has over them. It reads in Psalm 107:29 “He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.” The Lord is able to calm any storm, whether the storm is from a weather event or a mind event, he can command the storms to cease. An individual should never give in to thoughts that may rage in their mind and start to believe that the storm is more powerful than the power of the Lord. I Will, Will You?
