Step back
Does closeness bring clarity? When individuals are too close, to a person or a situation does being too close helps one to see things clearer? Being too close could prevent an individual from seeing things clear. When you are too close you can’t see a clear picture of what’s happening. To get a clear picture of the situation, an adjustment must be made, which generally brings clarity. The step back allows an adjustment to be made. It is believed that when you take a step back and disconnect from that person or situation, things become a lot clearer.
A magnifying glass is commonly used to see things clearer, but there are times when the lens on the magnifying glass must be adjusted for a clear view. Things become clearer when an individual takes a step back and remove themselves from the environment or a person. Taking a step back is beneficial because the individual may have had blinders on or were willing to overlook things just to stay close to a person or situation. Taking a step back may cause an individual to wonder how they could have been so foolish to have tolerated such behavior from another individual.
The bible also speaks about taking a step back, it reads in Psalm 119:59, “I thought on my ways and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.” The scripture is a reminder about individuals thinking back on their ways and taking a step back. Taking a step back is a helpful adjustment. I Will, Will You?
