Fitting in would mean to make and adjustment to be a part of something or to be with someone. There are many instances to fit in. To fit in could mean to fit comfortably in a space, fit in a new pair of shoes, or with a group of people.
Fitting comfortably in a space means that one will feel right at home in the setting with no discomfort. It would be impossible to fit a square block in a space, that was made for the shape of a triangle because the two objects were not made to fit in the same space. The two different shapes will not fit and if they were forced in the wrong space, that would not be a comfortable fit.
When the time comes to purchase a new pair of shoes, an individual will generally get fitted to make sure the shoes will be a comfortable fit. The individual will often try the shoes on to ensure that the fit is comfortable before the shoes are purchased. The individual will not purchase a pair of shoes that they have to force their feet in, that would not be a comfortable fit.
The desire to be popular or, in, with the in crowd, is important to some individuals, these individuals believe it’s important to fit in, to be accepted. Individuals may compromise their integrity to fit in with others. It would be impossible to fit a mold that is specially made for a specific fit. The fit is for one type of person since no two people are the same, the mold would be uncomfortable for the individual that the mold was not created for. Wanting to fit in, may lead to an individual to not appreciate the part that distinguishes them from others. These individuals are willing to fit in with what others are doing, because they can’t see the value of who they are. Trying to be someone else, would be an uncomfortable fit.
The bible advises the reader to not fit in. It reads in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Trying to fit in to the way the world lives, would mean to not live for the glory of God. The scripture is encouragement for the reader to not be conformed to this world, meaning trying to fit in with the beliefs that are not of Christ. The requirement is for the individual to renew their mind, so they may prove that which is good, acceptable and the perfect will of God. Don’t try to fit in where you do not belong. I Will, Will You?
