Have you heard the saying “different strokes for different folks?” That is a statement that has been repeated by many different people, for many years. Having differences or being different is what makes individuals and things unique. There are many things that are different. Differences can be found on the features available on products, with chosen professions, how individuals think and respond to situations.
Products are offered in various forms to appeal to the differences in styles and to meet the demand of what is wanted. Changes and updates are constantly made to products such as, electronics, appliances, housing styles, features, automobiles, and clothing. Retailers often make multiple products and offer various services to meet the demands of consumers. Retailers do this because they understand that not every consumer wants the same type of product or service. They are aware that consumers want different products. Some consumers want a specific color, size, and price point for the merchandise that they are seeking.
The type of professions chosen may vary based on the different needs and reasons for pursuing the type of profession. Professions can be chosen, based on the need to solve a problem, fill a void, or eliminate a gap in a service. Professions can be chosen based on the desire to earn a specific salary, to be viewed a certain way in the community or to hold a different status in the community. Different types of educational facilities exist to meet the needs of those seeking to increase their knowledge. Educational facilities are instrumental in helping individuals complete the educational requirements to earn the right to work in a desired profession. There are many different paths that can be taken to achieve a goal and earn the credentials needed. Educational facilities offer different courses, at different times and in many different settings, to assist individuals to attain the right to work in their desired profession.
Individuals are different in many ways because no two people are the same. Individuals have different levels of education and understanding, no two people think and behave the same. Individuals that are the result of multiple births, such as twins, or triplets are also different. These people may look the same, but there is always something different about them that helps others to recognize one of them from the other. What works for one person may not work for another person, because of the differences. Restaurants offer a menu of choices for their patrons because individuals have different size appetites, and taste buds. Because individuals are different, they behave differently, have different ways, think, and see situations differently.
The bible speaks of having differences. It reads in Romans 12:6 “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith.) Individuals are different and were created to fill different roles in life. They are at different stages in life, comes from different backgrounds, experiences, have different levels of understanding and how they react. It’s better to show compassion, display characteristics of patience to those that might be different. Since it is expected that no two people are the same, everyone behaves differently, wants different things out of life and strive to fill different roles and professions. Acceptance of their differences should be extended, and they should be viewed in the best light possible regardless of the differences that exist. I Will, Will You?
