Why are there so many people that are comfortable with deceiving one another? Deception is a dangerous and hurtful act; however, people will conduct the acts often and without a second thought about the effect it will have on an individual.
Businesses that make false and misleading claims about their products and services that they offer could create dangerous situations for the user. It appears that it is a general practice for businesses to go to extreme lengths to try and convince consumers that their product will provide certain results, improvements or benefits. The claims made could be for a beauty product, weight loss, tasty food item and health supplements.
Another area of concern is friendships or romantic relationships, which can leave the receiving party hurt by the act of deception. Friends could be practicing deception to get something from you without having any concern for you as a person or a friend. You may only hear from these friends when they want something from you or to see if they can deceive you. Romantic deception happens when one lover lacks true love and affection but wants the other party to believe that they are sincere.
The promises of politicians can be an act of deception which can be hurtful for those believing that once they help the politician to get elected, that they will get what they voted for. Politicians often make promises during campaigning and debates that they have no intention or the ability to keep.
Practicing the act of deception may seem harmless and is done by the deceiver, with the deceiver having the thought that they do not care if people get hurt by their act of deception or care who finds out, however scripture tells us in Galatians 6: 7-8 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Deception should not be something that a person or business should be proud of or brag about.
One way to prevent from being deceptive and causing dangerous or hurtful situations, is that we should all treat each other fair and be honest in our dealings with one another. Are you prepared to leave the act of deception out of how you conduct yourself? I Will, Will You?
