Is it true that the best way to teach is by example? Examples are often open displays of an action that can be viewed in a manner that could be used to influence or help with the growth or decline of an individual. Although it may not be obvious, every act or action is an example for someone that is observing to follow. There is always someone observing your actions, whether you see them or not, they see and hear your responses to situations. Your responses and reactions become a teachable moment for those that you encounter, without you realizing the affect it has on them. Since there are always observers around let your encounters be good teachable examples.
Teachable examples can fall into multiple categories. The categories can be bad or good. Bad examples are teachable demonstrations of reactions that should not be followed. Good examples are teachable demonstrations of what should be done. Bad examples could be an action that is done to hurt, humiliate or embarrass another person. Bad examples generally lack integrity and morals. Good examples are actions that are filled with love, sincerity, and kindness. Good examples should be taught and shared. The sharing of good examples has the potential of making life better for those that need to see what good examples look like. Not every individual has seen what being a good example looks like.
The best way to teach how to have better reactions to situations or create a change that will affect the actions of another person is done by example. What type of example are you sharing with those that are observing you, whether far or near? The bible speaks of being a good example. It reads in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” The scripture is providing instruction on how believers and followers of Christ should live. When you let your light shine, others around you may be drawn to you for the good examples that you are demonstrating. Be the one that believes that your examples matter, and someone will benefit from your display of good examples. I Will, Will You?
This is a true statement.
